We are currently seeking a talented and versatile strong Midweight to Senior UI / UX DESIGNER to join a leading Diversified Financial Services Group that is also a top 200 ASX-listed company.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This role provides the opportunity to play a key role in assisting the current Design team on all internal digital projects. This is a hybrid role and requires strong UI skill and UX capabilities to manage and work across a number of high-profile projects that are both key to the core business growth and future product vision/range.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating amazing user experiences, be able to translate high-level requirement into interaction flows and artifacts, then transform these into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Joining the Customer Experience team, you will be working closely with & reporting into the Head of UX & Design; and alongside a Senior UX/UI Designer. 

This role is focused on creatingdeveloping and refining digital experiences across all areas – from strategic business channels (B2B & B2C) to operations and systems.

Outputs range across public and secure (client-facing) websites, mobile and tablet apps solutions; right through to recommendations/considerations for wider product experience across digital branding, promotional campaigns & social channels.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

In this role, you will be tasked with leading the UX and UI Design capabilities – with a focus on improving the overall customer experience via a range of tasks – from building out new products & services from the ground up, through to incorporating new functionality, or refining of task flows / user flows.

You will be working within cross-functional project teams, with lots of interaction across different business units – including product, development, marketing, and brand teams. You will also be engaging with multiple stakeholders across the business – from Product, Distribution, Technology to external vendors/suppliers. 

A key part of this role will be focused on:

  • UX functionality: building out product components and functionalities (create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas ),
  • Solving problems: need to be comfortable solving problems and flows, creative thinking, and conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks 
  • Execute: all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to the development team
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards

 

REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:

The ability to work hands-on across the end-to-end UI and UX lifecycle are essential for this role, ideally combined with Product Design / native app experience (iOS, Android, mobile & tablet).

  • Proven UI experience and MUST support a user-centered approach to visual design
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies 
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps;
  • Proven ability in creating digital projects including; concepts, sketching, wireframes, design, quality testing and liaison with front and backend developers;
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively 
  • Be comfortable using low fidelity techniques as well as comfortable conducting user research and evaluate user feedback 
  • Ability to promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards 
  • Ability to design for consistency with standards rather than creative expression 

PLUSSES:

  • Experience of UX Design within the Finance or Insurance industry 
  • Comfortable standing in front of a whiteboard or even better if you can work/sketch/prototype with paper and pencil!
